Queen Grafting Course: Stevens Bee Co. with Cory Stevens at the Dielmann Recreation Complex, link below.

Lunch not included, a lunch break will be provided during the day for participants to eat at a nearby restaurant.

Overview:

This comprehensive queen grafting course, led by experienced beekeeper Cory Stevens of Stevens Bee Co., will equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to raise healthy, productive queen bees. The course will delve into the biological foundations of queen rearing, cover essential equipment and techniques, and provide hands-on experience in grafting.

Course Objectives:
  • Understand the biology of queen development and the factors that influence queen quality.
  • Identify and utilize the necessary equipment for successful queen rearing.
  • Learn how to set up and manage a cell builder colony.
  • Master the technique of grafting larvae for queen production.
  • Gain a basic understanding of bee genetics and its impact on queen quality.
  • Learn the proper care and handling of queen cells and virgin queens.
  • Participate in a hands-on grafting session.
