Apr 2025 Monthly Meeting
April 8 @ 6:15 pm - 9:00 pm

Please join us for our April meeting, our guest speakers will be Jim Masucci, talking about Managing your Hives for Honey Production. Jim, a St. Louis native, is both a honey bee researcher and sideliner beekeeper. As a researcher, Jim led some of the largest field trials ever conducted to develop a new varroa control product for Monsanto/Bayer. This experience gave him the opportunity to collaborate with top commercial beekeepers across the U.S. and Canada. Recently retired from his research career, Jim now focuses full-time on his honey bee business, which includes approximately 200 production hives and 70 nucs. While his business primarily focuses on nucs and honey, the lure of pollination services is always on his mind. Jim has shared his journey of transitioning to full-time beekeeping in BeeCulture magazine. In addition to his beekeeping operations, he continues to consult and run field trials for Greenlight Biosciences, helping to develop an RNAi-based varroa control product.
Come early to enjoy a little social time and dessert at 6:15 pm, the presentations will start at 6:45 pm. Bring your questions for our experts, they will make sure you’re on track for this month in beekeeping. Our meetings are open to everyone, see you there!
